Seaham Hall Hotel sees demand for soothing Seaweed Baths and Beach Hypnotherapy

May 19, 2021

At 44,000 sq feet, Seaham Hall Hotel’s spacious luxury spa is the only spa in the north of England to enjoy ‘Five Bubble Luxury’ status*. The spa features 17 treatment rooms, plus a salt sauna, herbal sanarium, eucalyptus steam room and hammam. Reopening on 17 May with all Covid-safe guidelines in place, and a reduced number of spa-goers, there’s space galore in which to unwind in the Serenity Spa, whether relaxing in the heated indoor pool, the outdoor hot tubs, or the hydrotherapy pool in the open-air Zen Garden.

How will Seaham Hall restore your body and mind in 2021?

Bathe in immune-boosting seaweed

The spa has seen an increase in demand for treatments using ishga, a unique Scottish seaweed, hand-harvested from the Hebridean coast. This skin-friendly organic seaweed yields vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, which are combined with pure Hebridean spring water to harness over 86 vitamins and natural trace minerals. Try the popular ishga Bath, a 30-minute seaweed soak infused with healing mineral sea salts, or the ishga facial, which blends the seaweed with aloe vera, macadamia nut oil and cucumber extract to deliver remarkable anti-ageing, hydrating and skin-renewing results.

Treatments available from £70 per person or as part of the Full Day/ Evening Spa.

Get moving again after lockdown life

As we start to emerge from a sluggish year of sitting too much and moving too little, the in-house experts at the Serenity Spa can help to motivate you and lift you out of your lockdown low. Get moving with classes including outdoor bootcamps, Yoga and HIIT – or, for mindful wellness, try a hypnotherapy session on Seaham’s Beach plus meditation to help ease stress, anxiety and insomnia. The spa’s team of experts and trainers will support the return of your best self and renewed confidence post lockdown. Set your intentions high and book an innovative Tanita body assessment and personal plan, where body composition is measured in bone, fat, water and muscle.

Outdoor classes are available as an added benefit for overnight guests and spa members. Personal training sessions are available from £40 pp. Pre-booking required.

Take a much-needed spa-cation

You don’t need to take off to a far-flung retreat in the wild to find your zen. With 37 acres of gardens and grounds to explore, the rugged Durham Heritage Coast right on your doorstep plus complimentary bike hire, you’ll feel refreshed in the sea air and along the country lanes surrounding Seaham Hall. Spend the night in one of the hotel’s stylish suites, sleep peacefully in a Super King-sized bed after a spritz of Temple Spa Sleep Mist, treat yourself to a Bath Butler (a hot bath drawn for you, infused with ishga Bath Salts) and dine in the glorious setting of The Dining Room, where you can sample the best local produce and modern British fare. Enjoy the many facilities in the Serenity Spa during your stay, including Mediterranean-inspired Temple Spa treatments, or a personalised Rasul Mud Treatment for two.

Stay overnight from £315 for two sharing a Junior Suite, including breakfast and full spa access.
