Matt Rita
Managing Director of Link Ventures
Matt Rita is a Managing Director at Link. He is a seasoned negotiator, a former federal and state court litigator. For more than two decades Matt represented both public and private companies in a variety of industries (including logistics, information systems, healthcare, energy, and natural resources, and financial services, among others). As a trusted adviser and dedicated advocate, he handled complex judicial and administrative proceedings for his clients, appearing in both trial courts and appellate tribunals around the country. In his last court appearance before joining Link, Matt successfully defended a publicly-traded mining company against claims of alleged trade secret misappropriation. The subject matter of that dispute (i.e., langbeinite processing in southeastern New Mexico) reawakened some of his distant memories of freshman chemistry at MIT (3.091, wasn’t it?). After graduating from the Institute with his Bachelor of Science degree, Matt earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Cornell Law School. Having traded numbers for words, he has been a prolific speaker and author over the course of his career. The publication of his most recent article (in The Colorado Lawyer) coincides with the beginning of his tenure at Link. Named a Colorado “Super Lawyer” for five consecutive years, Matt is a Massachusetts native who is also admitted to practice here in the Commonwealth. He will maintain his ties to the Rocky Mountain West, thereby expanding Link’s geographic footprint as the team moves forward with raising its second fund.
