Tell us about yourself?
I had been working as a wedding photographer for around 7 years and noticed a gap in the market. A lot of couples and suppliers wanted the option to pay by card rather than a bank transfer, also comparing photographers and videographers had to be done by going on each photographers website and then you could never see the exact price.
Myself and Natasha had the idea. to create a stand alone website where you can browse wedding photographers, see every detail you need such as price, availability, portfolio, reviews and FAQs.
Once you have found your perfect wedding photographer you can now use the platform to pay securely and safely by card.
The suppliers also have a full backend calendar where their bookings go with options to message each couple. Its a one stop shop for both couples and photographers.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
Be patient! These things take time, a lot of time and it isn’t going to work overnight.
What problem does your business solve?
Easy to compare wedding photographers and videographers online, see exact pricing and be able to pay by card online.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
To make the process of booking your wedding photography and videography easy, fun and safe. We also want suppliers to have a one stop shop when it comes to managing their bookings and accepting card payments.
What is your magic sauce?
We are the only ones offering this service. We have created a niche market for the modern couple to find and book their perfect photographer.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
The plan for the next 5 years is to grow the supplier base to have more suppliers around the UK and also to push the site to newly engaged couples.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
Covid! Covid absolutely destroyed the wedding industry. Weddings were shut down for a year and half and then were limited. Couples are only just finding the confidence to enquire and book their weddings.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We want wedding photographers to join up to CaptureOurWedding.com and be part of this great new site. The site is free for couples and free for suppliers to sign up. We don’t charge any up front fees at all.
We take a small percentage of bookings, we have to do the work to get you bookings otherwise we don’t get paid. Follow us on all our social media to see regular updates.
