As International CTO of Mavenir, Ian is responsible for developing and communicating Mavenir’s technology and product strategy in the EMEA and APAC markets. Ian has more than thirty years experience in mobile, telecommunciations and high availability distributed systems. Prior to joining Mavenir, he was the CTO of 724 Solutions before becoming Chief Architect at Mobixell Networks. Having started his career developing signalling stacks for the 5ESS at AT&T/Phillips, Ian went on to be a member of Tandem’s High Performance Research Center (HPRC). Ian holds an Honors Degree in Computer Science from Heriot-Watt University and multiple patents.

Niall Burns
Chief Technology Officer of Symphonic
Niall has led commercial software development projects for over 20 years within the finance, health, government, telecoms and oil industries. Prior to joining Symphonic during its proof of concept phase to design the product architecture, he was Technical Director for the design and delivery of an innovative patient safety solution for the health service market, working in collaboration with the NHS and leading pharmaceutical companies. Along with his technical expertise Niall brings a great passion for transforming technical ideas into commercially viable products.

Eric Greveson
CTO of Brainomix
Eric is the CTO of Brainomix. He received his 1st class M.Eng.in Engineering from Cambridge University, and has worked on a wide variety of computer vision projects. These include video processing and 3D graphics algorithms, real-time data capture software, parallel grid computing systems, and data visualization. He has extensive experience in software engineering, design, and programming with languages such as C++ and Python. At Brainomix, Eric works with the clinical and business teams to deliver the company’s state-of-the-art medical imaging software.

Mostafa Afgani
Co-Founder and CTO of pureLiFi
Mostafa is a respected hardware and firmware engineer. A chief architect of VLC hardware platforms over the past three years, Mostafa holds three patents and has filed for two more in the VLC field. Prior to co-founding pureLiFi he developed sensitive signal anomaly detection hardware for Agilent and held a research position at DoCoMo labs, Munich, Germany. Mostafa has BSc and MSc degrees in electronics from Jacobs University, Bremen, Germany and a PhD in communications and signal processing from the University of Edinburgh.

Michael Berger
CTO & Founder of Speech Graphics
Michael is a linguist, speech scientist and software engineer who has been a pioneering expert in the field of speech animation since 1995. He helped develop the first-ever automated talking head and co-authored a book on the subject, before moving on to the challenge of highly realistic synthesis of facial dynamics. He founded a speech animation research business in the US, and was granted a US patent on static and dynamic 3D facial reconstruction. He is also currently affiliated with the Centre for Speech Technology Research at the University of Edinburgh.

Ronen Barzel
CTO of Musemantik
Ronen’s experience spans software development, academia, and project leadership, with a emphasis on computer technology used in the service of artistic endeavors. He worked for a dozen years as an Animation Scientist at Pixar Animation Studios (where his most visible claim to fame is having built the Slinky Dog model for the first Toy Story movie), and more recently as a Senior Technologist at Adobe Systems. He served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Graphics Tools for over a decade from its inception in 1996, and was co-editor of the Audio Anecdotes series of books on digital audio. He was chair of the SIGGRAPH 2009 Conference, introducing for the first time a special focus on music as it relates to interactive techniques and graphics. He holds an BSc in Math and Physics and an MSc in Computer Science from Brown University, and a PhD in Computer Science from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Over the years he has held occasional visiting academic positions, including teaching at the University of Washington, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Ecole Polytechnique, and the University of California San Diego.
