Richard is an industry leader, and pioneer in the development of virtual production technologies, pipelines, and studio facilities. With over 26 years’ experience he is has been instrumental in creating some of the most complex in-camera cinematography. His career began at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop – UK, in control systems engineering, and he quickly became one of the founding team members of their ground breaking computer graphics department. Recording the world’s first human and animal optical motion capture data for feature films and commercial video games, he developed many of the techniques that are still in use today. From robotic engineering for Babe, The Adventures of Pinocchio, Loch Ness, through to breathing life into the horses for Red Dead Redemption video game, Richard has continued to push the creative boundaries of what is technically achievable. He helped create the Universal Studios’ WIZARDING WORLD OF POTTER Theme Park utilizing his own virtual camera and motion control technologies, as well as enabling otherwise unshootable camera-work for projects including Hansel & Gretel, Wolfman, Angels & Demons, and more. Richard also consults on government level projects including developing ground breaking tools for Forensic Analysis and is a key-note speaker in AR and VR at conferences worldwide.

Professor Pepper is a Fellow of the Royal Society and a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge and the recipient of many prizes and honours for his work on semiconductors. He received a knighthood in 2006 for his services to physics and since 2009 is Pender Professor of Nanoelectronics at University College London.

Born and educated in India (NID), with an MA in Interaction Design from the Royal College of Art, Anab founded Superflux in 2009, leading the Consultancy’s client partnerships whilst balancing the Lab’s self-initiated conceptual projects. She has lead multidisciplinary design, strategy and foresight projects for businesses, think-tanks and research organisations such as Sony, BBC, Nokia, NHS, Design Council, Forum for the Future, Qatar Foundation and Govt. of UAE. Honoured as a TED Fellow, she is the receipient of several awards, including the Award of Excellence ICSID and Apply Computers, Innovation Award, Chicago International Film Festival and the UNESCO Digital Arts Award. Her experience and knowledge of design, futurescaping, emerging markets, new technologies and innovation has led her to be invited to speak at conferences such as PICNIC, WCIT2010, LIFT, SIGGRAPH, Global Design Forum, EPIC, Design Engaged and FuturEverything. Her work has been exhibited at MoMA New York, Apple Computers Inc, Mattel Toys, Tate Modern, Science Gallery Dublin, National Museum of China and the London Design Festival. She is on the Board of MzTek and Broadway Cinema and Media Centre, and is a guest lecturer at the Royal College of Art, VCUQatar, Architectural Association, Goldsmiths, Dundee Innovative Product Design and CIID.
