Tell us about yourself?

Chartered Accountant with an MBA in Executive Management, over 20 years of commercial finance and operations experiance at senior/director leadership level spanning over a vast range of industries.

My aim is to enable small to medium sized businesses to access finance director expertise at a fraction of the full time employed cost, providing expertise on-demand, as and when a business requries it.

Support can be on an ongoing monthly/quarterly retainer or on a single project basis, no job to large or small! Annual accounting packages available for Limited Companies, CIC’s and partnerships with a minimum of a half year review to ensure your business finances are aligned to your plans.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

To focus on the core offering, to your interests and customer base. By providing too large a range of services your path can become a little confusing, both to you and potential clients.

What problem does your business solve?

Logical BI Limited enables small to medium sized businesses to access finance director/CFO expertise at a fraction of the full time employed cost, providing expertise on-demand, as and when a business requries it.

Support can be on an ongoing monthly/quarterly retainer or on a single project basis, no job to large or small! Typical customer size for these retainers and projects are those with business turnovers between £150k – £5m Annual accounting packages available for Limited Companies, CIC’s and partnerships with a minimum of a half year review to ensure your business finances are aligned to your plans.

These packages allows smaller businesses to obtain their own FD reviews before their year is over – once the year is over it is often too late to change direction!

What is the inspiration behind your business?

My success is the success of my clients. I want to support others’ confidence, understanding, and abilities with business finance. Often businesses don’t need or can’t afford a full-time employed Finance director or CFO, this is where I step in.

I offer flexible retainers or ad-hoc project support for business owners recognising that finance is key to the business, without finance management and reliable knowledge, all other activities may simply be burning cash or causing inefficiencies.

What is your magic sauce?

I provide Finance Director (FD) support to businesses on-demand with flexible packages that are affordable! Plus vastly experienced with skills beyond just finance. I have traveled to China and Europe multiple times to support Supply Chain and infrastructure projects. Clients gain experience much greater than pure finance.

Plus by going direct to myself you cut out the usual agency rates. Similar service is often obtained via an agency for which the rates are increased – for the £1200 per day you may spend, the FD would receive £750 and the agency £450 – why pay the extra £450?

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

The first two years in business has provided me with much greater growth than expected and a brilliant client base. Over the next 5 years I would like to grow my team to include another full time chartered accountant and bookkeeper for the accountancy services side of the business and also bring in an apprentice.

My vision is to continue to provide the best service, supporting owners and directors to be cash and profit savvy, to have the robust finance management, planning and reporting that they deserve.

To be a known go-to for flexible support and also launch my on-line training series for director/owners plus non-finance functional heads for improved business finance understanding and putting new skills into practice within their businesses.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Marketing, it can be so difficult to balance multiple management of your own business so I have recently hired support. It is important to recognise when support is required to ensure as a business owner you are focusing on your key strengths and allowing others to support in other areas.
