Marieke joined Octopus Ventures in 2018 to source, execute and manage late stage investments. She sits on a number of investee company boards and as part of the “Future of Health” team, identifies opportunities across digital health, clinical decision tools and disease prevention technologies. Prior to Octopus Ventures Marieke focused on Leveraged Finance opportunities in TMT sector for Credit Suisse and most recently led deal origination in the German speaking market for Zouk Capital. Marieke holds a Masters of Finance and Business Administration from Mannheim University, Germany and Tec de Monterrey, Mexico. She speaks French, Spanish, German and English.

Uwe joined Zouk in 2014 as an Investment Manager in the Growth Capital Team, bringing with him more than 8 years’ experience in private equity, M&A and corporate finance and more than 6 years’ investment experience in technology focused venture & growth capital. Since 2008 he has executed and managed investments of more than € 100 million into European start-ups and growth companies. Before joining Zouk, Uwe was a Principal at ViewPoint Capital Partners in Frankfurt, where he focused on European Software & Internet Technology investments and actively supported the funds’ portfolio companies with organisational structuring and international expansion. Prior to that, Uwe served as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs between 2006 and 2008, advising European blue chips with strategic acquisitions, trade sales and IPOs. During his tenure Uwe advised on more than € 10 billion of cross-border M&A transactions and IPOs across various industries. Uwe holds a MSc with Honours in Computer Science and Business Administration from Darmstadt Technical University.

Justin Mighell
Principal of Zouk Capital
Justin Mighell is a principal on Zouk’s Growth Capital Team which he joined in 2007. Justin is currently focused on the UK and Scandinavia, where he is responsible for sourcing, structuring, executing and managing investments. Over his 8 years at Zouk he has been involved in technology and services business across a range of sectors and themes, including enterprise SaaS, solar, energy efficiency, electric mobility, mobile payments and digital media. He is currently a Board observer at Solarcentury (UK) and Readly (SE), and was previously a Board observer at Anesco (UK). Prior to joining Zouk, Justin set up and ran a business venture in the music entertainment industry. Justin holds a BSc. in Neuroscience from the University of Sydney.

John Higelin

John joined Zouk’s Growth Capital Team in 2013. He has over 6 years of combined experience in growth equity, investment banking and technology. Prior to Zouk, John spent 3 years in investment banking at J.P.Morgan and C.W.Downer & Co, where he advised on a wide range of transactions in technology, energy and diversified industrials. In addition, John has served as a consultant to the United Nations Development Programme in New York, where he promoted the adoption of clean energy technologies in developing countries. He has also carried out economics and scientific research for Columbia University’s Lenfest Center for Sustainable Energy, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Joint European Torus, one of the world’s largest nuclear fusion research facilities. John holds graduate degrees in sustainable economics and technology policy from Columbia University and the University of Cambridge, as well as a degree in industrial engineering from École Centrale in Lyon, France.

Norris Latshaw
Principal, Head of Investor Relations & Fundraising of Zouk Capital
Norris joined Zouk’s Investor Relations team in 2015 where she leads Zouk’s ongoing fundraising efforts and engagements with investors. She draws on over 10 years of experience in Institutional Sales and Business Development. At Zouk, Norris enjoys the daily communication with investors, constant engagement across all the teams within Zouk, and the varied and interactive nature of her role. Norris previously worked at Height Securities, a research broker-dealer focused on regulatory, macroeconomic, and geopolitical risk research, where she was a Vice President on the Institutional Sales team. Prior to Height Securities, she was a Sales Associate for two years at FBR Capital Markets. Norris is active across a variety of sporting activities having previously played Lacrosse at Princeton. She is also an avid traveller, in particular enjoying history, art, and adventure oriented travel. Norris holds a BA from Princeton University where she majored in Political Science.

George Ridd
Principal of Zouk Capital
George joined Zouk in 2012 and has 7 years of experience in project finance and infrastructure investment. He focuses on financial modelling, transaction execution and due diligence on the infrastructure team. George previously worked for the construction and services company Carillion Plc., as a project finance professional focused on PFI and PPP infrastructure investments. His core expertise was built in clean energy, transport and social infrastructure projects. He joined Carillion as a graduate and during his training period gained membership of the AMCT (Association of Corporate Treasurers). George holds an Economics B.Sc from the University of Southampton.
