Yvette Reinfor: More Curricular Is on a Mission To Help All Children Reach Their Academic Potential

August 9, 2022

More Curricular is on a mission to help ALL children reach their academic potential. Using the latest research, we develop assessment apps, study skills workshops and writing courses that provide parents with the tools they need to help their children excel in school and life.

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their best at school and are committed to helping them get there.

Tell us about yourself?

I am a former teacher and founded More Curricular to help ALL children reach their academic potential. I have seen too many children failed by the education system, so I decided to do something about it!

In addition to my work with More Curricular, I am also an honorary secretary of the National Handwriting Association and a Local Champion for MIYB – a female networking group.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Diversify your skillset. Don’t focus on becoming an expert in any one thing – instead, try to develop a range of abilities and knowledge. This way, you’ll be better equipped to adapt to the ever-changing world around you. Trust me, it’ll come in handy later on!

What problem does your business solve?

We create tools that make it easy for parents to help their child reach their academic potential and succeed in school and life.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

More Curricular is inspired by the belief that every child has the potential to succeed academically. We create research-based tools and resources to help parents support their children’s learning and development so that every child can reach their full potential.

What is your magic sauce?

Unlike our competitors, More Curricular empower children to become independent learners and be less dependent on tutoring. Learning should spark creativity, curiosity and the desire to know more about the world around you.

Thus, our assessment apps, workshops and courses are also designed to support children in becoming motivated and disciplined learners who can set their own goals and work towards them effectively.

We pride ourselves on the following:

  • Our products and services use neuroscience and education research to ensure ALL children can achieve their potential.
  • We teach skills that stay in long-term memory and can be applied across subjects/contexts.
  • We help explain to parents what their children know and how they can support them.
  • Our assessment apps help explain to parents the curriculum and what their children are learning.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

The next five years are crucial for the development of More Curricular. Our goal is to continue improving our assessment apps and developing More English and More Science apps for primary school children.

We are also developing a CPD programme for teachers to share good practice and the latest research.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

More Curricular has had to face many challenges since its inception. The biggest challenge by far has been finding a way to provide our products and services to children whose parents cannot afford them.

However, we have overcome this challenge by partnering with local organisations, charities and government agencies.

Thanks to these partnerships, More Curricular has been able to provide our services to ALL children regardless of socio-economic background.

It is a huge accomplishment and would not have been possible without the help of our amazing partners!

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

At More Curricular, we strongly believe that education is a fundamental human right. We are committed to providing parents and educators with the tools they need to help children learn and thrive.

We are proud to partner with charities and government agencies that want to make a difference in the lives of children from marginalised communities.

We also work with corporates, offering our Learning to Learn package for their employees. Employees can access tools and resources for their children from 3 – 18 years old.

Learning to learn matters. When you buy into our vision, you are investing in the future of children everywhere. Join us in making a difference!
