Before joining Avoca in 2011, he managed the Liontrust Credit Fund at Liontrust (formerly Ilex Credit Fund). Prior to this role, he was CEO of Exco plc, a U.K.-based business. He commenced seventeen years of fixed income trading experience with Akroyd and Smithers and spent two years with S.G. Warburg before joining Salomon Brothers to run its U.K government bond trading team. In 1992, he joined the newly formed NatWest Markets, responsible for European government trading and sales before managing credit products. Prior to this, he acted as Assistant Trader at the Foreign Exchange and Derivatives desks at the Treasury of the National Bank of Greece, the oldest and largest financial group in the country. Iason received a B.Sc in Economics from University of Ioannina and a MSc in Investment Management from Cass Business School. He speaks Greek, English, Spanish and French. He is passionate about football and would one day like to go on an extended tour of Latin America.

Patrick Watson is Chief Financial Officer at Anthemis. Previously, Patrick was Chief Financial Officer at private equity firm 8c Capital, where he put in place systems and procedures and readied the firm for investor operational due diligence. Patrick also led the Funds Reporting team at 3i Group plc and, prior to that, was responsible for fund finance for Deutsche Bank’s infrastructure funds. Patrick graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2002 with a degree in modern languages. Before qualifying as a chartered accountant, he studied Italian and French at university and spent a year teaching English in Rome. In his spare time, when not trying to keep up with his young family, he enjoys cooking and going to concerts.
