While many offices have opted to retain the remote working that was so successful during the pandemic, some are wanting to return to the office… even if just on a hybrid basis.

Of course, this isn’t always a popular choice among employees, after all, many benefited from a better work/life balance and enjoyed no longer having to commute.

If you’ve been weighing up your options and decided that you need some face-to-face time with your staff, then you might need to come up with some extra incentives to get them back on site. After all, with so many companies choosing remote, you don’t want to risk them looking for another job!

Creating an office environment that they’ll want to work in is the first step to encouraging them back to their desks, so here are just three steps to make the transition a little easier.

1) Provide Excellent Amenities

Ensuring that your office has the best amenities is one way to encourage your staff to join you onsite once more. These alterations can be large scale, or small, depending on your space and budget.

For example, even smaller companies can do something as simple as ensuring that they provide quality coffee. Experts such as Nespresso often work with businesses to supply coffee to offices, so you can make sure that the caffeine source that your employees can access at work is at least just as good as what they’d have at home.

Or, if you’re a large firm with big budgets and space to spare, then consider having a staff gym installed. This way your employees can still keep up with their lunch break workout routine.

2) Choose a Stylish Aesthetic

No one wants to work in a dilapidated office with migraine inducing fluorescent lights. If you want to get your staff back to the office, then it might be worth investing in a makeover.

From new energy efficient LED bulbs to stylish doors, even the most simple of changes can make a big difference. In fact, the fire doors from Oakwood Doors are not only a great choice for safety, but their range of styles means that you’ll be sure to find the perfect doors to suit your office redesign.

There’s no reason to sacrifice style when ensuring health and safety, so plan your office renovation with both in mind.

3) Promote a Positive Company Culture

Company culture plays a big role in employee satisfaction. In fact, studies show that company culture is an important factor for as many as 46% of job seekers.

When you can create a relaxed environment, you’ll help to reduce the stress your employees face. Consider treating them to breakfast once a week, or even organising after work drinks.

And, if your company previously had a strict smart dress code, consider relaxing this for more casual attire. After all, many of us got used to working in loungewear when we were remote – try to find a happy medium between pyjamas and a suit.
