Tell us about yourself?
I started as a journalist before moving into PR in London, and then. back in Scotland.
David Gray PR was formed 20 years ago and since then we have worked for clients in the UK, Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands. In today’s digital world, ‘place’ is now irrelevant.
What’s important is to have the right people producing excellent work – irrespective of where they’re based.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
That Brexit and Covid-19 have taught ares that we can never take anything for granted.
What problem does your business solve?
We provide bespoke PR solutions that work. We don’t do waffle or provide fuzzy campaigns that achieve very little. Our mission is to be the best and give clients a service that meets, and exceeds, their PR expectations.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
Most PR companies have expensive overheads and rigid structures. We’ve. done away witth all that, and are able to work extremely cost-effectively.
What is your magic sauce?
Our competitive advantage is that we only have subject experts working on our accounts. No junior staff, only the best.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
We have been a disrupter on the PR scene since we began. That’s what. we inteend to continue doing!
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
Over the past 20 years we have run a number of international programs. The biggest. challenge was persuading clients that a small agency could pitch way above its weight and deliver results nationally and internationally.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
As an agile agency, we work with clients large and small. Our great advantage is that we can scale our client support to meet thee needs of multinational companies down to SMEs.
