Pawel is a co-founder of Synaptec. He leads the Advanced Sensors Team at the University of Strathclyde, focussing on the advancement of optical sensing methods and systems integration in applications that lie predominantly in power and energy sectors. He has carried out a unique portfolio of research programmes, generally focusing on fibre based spectrally encoded sensors, and addressing such issues as sensor design, fabrication, packaging, deployment, and interrogation in challenging environments. He has over 20 years’ experience in delivering and managing industrially-focussed R&D projects in this area, including those that resulted in the sensing techniques that form Synaptec’s core IP.

Campbell is a co-founder of Synaptec and a Reader at the University of Strathclyde. He has built a portfolio of research in the areas of power system protection, control and monitoring, working with government and industrial funding partners, and leads the technical team of the Power Network Demonstration Centre in Scotland. He is on the organising committees of the IET DPSP and PACWorld conferences, participates in various CIGRE working groups, and has published over 150 articles, engineering recommendations, white papers and several book chapters. He possesses an excellent understanding of the industry’s challenges which enables him to identify the key problems for which Synaptec’s technology is uniquely placed to offer a solution.

Danny Quinn

Danny is the Managing Director and founder of DataVita who have recently launched Fortis, Scotland’s first large scale next generation, energy efficient, co-location datacentre. Danny was responsible for the project from conception to delivery and has created one of the most innovative, secure and reliable facilities in the UK. He has also worked closely with the Uptime Institute to make DataVita the first UK Co-location datacentre to achieve Tier III Construction certification and to do this with 100% free air cooling. Previous to starting DataVita, Danny was the Head of Operations for a European-wide integrator and cloud service provider, responsible for an operations team of over 100 staff delivering managed cloud services to customers in 14 countries.

Graeme Logie
Operations Director of DataVita
Graeme Logie is the Operations Director at DataVita Limited and has been working within the Critical Facilities industry for over 20 years. Graeme earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Power Engineering whilst studying at Glasgow Caledonian University and is also an active member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. For his entire career Graeme has worked in various roles designing, installing, maintaining and managing critical infrastructure. In recent years Graeme’s career has been focused on managing and building Data Centres for Oracle and DataVita. Graeme is now focused on growing the DataVita business at the Fortis Data Centre.
