Caesar is the open-source password and document manager for teams. We want to become an industry-standard solution by providing the extremely secure encryption methods with a team-friendly interface
Tell us about yourself?
We are 11-year experience development company from UK, who finally decided to design own product – open-source solution for safe work with passwords (and other sensitive data) within teams.
I`m co-founder & CBDO – responsible for business development and partners relationship
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
We had the dilemma: either to continue our current successful business or focus only on Caesar or choose the hybrid model? We chose hybrid, now I would choose Caesar development only
What problem does your business solve?
Stolen data is a global threat.
There are a lot of methods on how sensitive data could be stolen (hacked, poor security, accidentally published, lost computers, social engineering etc).
Passwords are estimated to be the root cause of 80 percent of all data breaches in the world.
Personal passwords managers can solve this problem, but the leaks appear when you need to share the sensitive data with someone
What is the inspiration behind your business?
Have been working for the last 12 years with 95 clients, there was the only client who shared the passwords and credentials with us in a secure way.
And we were in charge of the safety of the remaining 94 clients` sensitive data.
That is the highest risk for both sides.
there were no secure & easy-to-use solutions at that moment.
Only close source ones (which had allowed leakes)
And we decided to develop own solution
What is your magic sauce?
Latest an extremely secure encryption methods with a team-friendly interface.
The symbiosis of 1Password and Slack in some fashion.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
to become an industry standard open-source solution for sharing sensitive data (from passwords to documents)
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
nurture the audience and convince them to leverage open-source solution and not to trust 100% to big brands which allows breaches and sell the sensitive data.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We individuals & companies who really care about their data to use Caesar or discuss partnership opportunity
