A QUICK INTRODUCTION ABOUT WHAT YOUR COMPANY DOES/YOUR VALUES/MISSION.

SeenHire is a job and talent hiring platform that sees more in people.

SeenHire is about creating a personalised, cultural fit job opportunity and minimise the impact of unconscious bias. Focusing on people and company culture. SeenHire provides job seekers, employers and recruitment agencies different ways to apply for jobs and find new talent. Employers and job seekers can make connections with each other beyond looking at an online profile or piece of paper.

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?

I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of being long-term unemployed and the biases that exist in the job market.

I founded SeenHire to revolutionise the way job seekers present themselves to employers and the way employers see candidates.

The platform allows job seekers to create a multimedia profile and employers to shortlist candidates based on specific skills and values, rather than just relying on traditional CVs and resumes.

IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME A YEAR OR TWO, WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOURSELF?

You are who you are and what you are because of what has gone into your mind. You can change who you are and what you are by changing what goes into your mind.

WHAT PROBLEM DOES YOUR BUSINESS SOLVE?

Farewell traditional written CV/Resume

There are certainly some valid points to be made about the limitations of a written CV/resume in the hiring process. One of the main concerns is the lack of verification and transparency. It is possible for candidates to exaggerate or even lie about their qualifications or experience on their CV, and there is often no way for the employer to easily verify the information provided.

Additionally, a CV may not always accurately reflect a candidate’s future performance on the job. While a candidate’s past experience and education can be helpful indicators of their abilities, there are many other factors that can impact their performance in a new role. For example, a candidate’s personality, communication skills, and ability to work well with others may not be fully conveyed through a written CV.

Finally, a written CV does not necessarily screen candidates for personality or other non-technical skills that may be important for success in a given role. Employers may want to consider using other tools such as SeenHire to get a better sense of a candidate’s fit for the position.

Malfunctioning ATS System

It is true that applicant tracking systems (ATS) have limitations and can sometimes lead to bad decisions in the hiring process. One of the main limitations of ATS is that they rely on keywords and content analysis to evaluate CVs/resumes and job applications. While this can be an effective way to identify candidates with relevant skills and experience, it may not always be the best way to determine a person’s suitability for a particular role. This is because ATS do not take into account other important factors such as a person’s attitude and cultural fit, which can be critical to their success in a particular job.

Another limitation of ATS is that they may not always be reliable. There have been cases where ATS have rejected qualified candidates because their CVs/resumes did not contain the right keywords, or because they were not formatted in a way that the ATS could easily read. This can lead to good candidates being overlooked or excluded from the hiring process, which can be frustrating for both job seekers and employers.

Negative impact of biased hiring

It is established that unconscious bias can play a role in hiring decisions, and it is important for employers to be aware of this. Unconscious bias refers to the unconscious associations and stereotypes that we all have, which can influence our thoughts and actions without our awareness. These biases can lead to discriminatory behaviour and decision-making, particularly in areas such as hiring, where we may have preconceived notions about certain groups of people.

Research has consistently shown that diverse teams tend to be more innovative and perform better than homogenous teams. This is likely because diverse teams bring a wider range of perspectives, experiences, and skills to the table, which can lead to better problem-solving and decision-making. In addition, a diverse workforce can be more representative of the customer base, which can be beneficial for customer relations and satisfaction.

**

I founded SeenHire with the goal to revolutionise the way job seekers present themselves to potential employers and the way employers see candidates. I strongly believe that traditional recruitment methods have not evolved enough, especially in the age of Covid-19, and that both job seekers and employers have evolved their expectations over the years.

As a result, I developed a platform that allows job seekers to showcase their skills, experiences, and personality in a more authentic and meaningful way. Providing employers to be able to see candidates for who they really are, rather than just relying on a traditional CV/resume.

To achieve this, I implemented a number of innovative beta features on the SeenHire platform. For example, job seekers can create a video profile application, allowing them to really showcase their unique talents and abilities.

Employers, on the other hand, can use the platform to shortlist candidates based on specific skills, experiences, and even personal values. This allows them to find the right fit for their team and company culture, rather than just settling for the candidate with the most impressive CV/resume.

WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND YOUR BUSINESS?

With the growth of user-generated content on social platforms, it is increasingly important to put a face to a name. However, recruitment processes often rely on blind written CVs/resumes and questionable practices like removing a candidate’s identity to supposedly reduce bias, or using automated ATS systems that may overlook talented candidates.

I strongly believe that traditional recruitment methods have not evolved enough, especially in the age of Covid-19, and that both job seekers and employers have evolved their expectations over the years.
