We’re on a mission to rebuild trust between clients and agencies. For too long clients aren’t happy and agency teams are overworked – we want to change that.
We produce high quality, long form content for scaling brands, specialising in audio and podcasts.
Tell us about yourself?
I am a failed musician, and when I was in my early twenties had the most incredible opportunity to succeed in the music industry with the biggest band in the world and…I blew it.
So I knew then that I didn’t have the talent to succeed as a musician, but I remained creatively driven, and creative at heart. The move into entrepreneurship came really natural
I have always been an entrepreneur, starting my first project out of Uni which turned into a national education charity called Future First.
I then wanted to make some money so started a mobile photo printing and framing service which I sold. After some time consulting in the niche between classical music and digital, I started an agency. Frustrated at the experience I had with agencies on the client side, I wanted to do things differently.
I landed clients like Virgin and Toyota and the rest is history.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
Fin a niche and focus on it. Not just a customer niche, a service niche designed for your customer. Don’t do it all for everyone.
What problem does your business solve?
We give brands a voice. For companies that are growing their brands, we create high quality, long form audio content and help them distribute it.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
Audio is experiencing a boom, and we have an amazing track record in producing some of the most popular podcasts in the UK – so we created a model of content production and distribution which brands can use to effectively scale and reach new audiences in new ways.
What is your magic sauce?
We know audio – and give your brand a voice. We know what makes engaging audio content, and what doesn’t, so can give your brand cut-through with the people that matter.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
The plan over the next 5 years is to build audio products which companies and agencies love to use to create amazing content. We want to be the leading audio agency in the UK.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
Well…for anyone who’s build a business throughout Covid and a recession is familiar with challenges. But the biggest challenge for me was working with the right business partners. Changing course meant parting ways amicably and regaining control.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We’re building a community of audio makers – to join the waiting list email me at joe@wearegoldfish.com.
