TGRG is a multidisciplinary boutique agency. Our clients are atypical visionaries with the desire to uplift, empower and inspire.
TGRG is split into three divisions: TGRG Talent, Marcomms & PR and SixByNines&Co, our literary arm.
Tell us about yourself?
I feel like connecting with people through writing and content has always been in me? I started writing and producing when I was quite young, doing my church’s service sheets and creating newsletters for my local park.
I eventually joined an organisation called Children’s Express, which had young people write stories for major publications. So, by the time I was 11 or 12, I was published by multiple mainstream outlets like The Independent. I went on to write for my university paper and was head hunted by the events team to promote an event with legendary DJ and Radio Presenter, Trevor Nelson. I sold out the event then took Trevor to a few local venues to do a PA.
I was doing marketing, PR, and comms without knowing that’s what it was. When you look at my history, I’ve been in this space for over 25 years.
In my most recent years, TGRG was built on my desire to take control of the people and projects I work on and I realised that I enjoy running a business.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
Trust yourself – we grew exponentially in the pandemic to heights even I didn’t anticipate. I was able to survive through the pandemic because being flexible was necessary. It was such an uncertain time, but it has all worked out. This is the nature of business.
What problem does your business solve?
We work with individuals and businesses to turn their goals into reality.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
My business has been built on being able to see how I can use my skills to propel forward. What really inspires me is people who stand for a cause that affects our wider community. Whether that’s health, fashion, social justice, or wellbeing , each of our clients are out in the world doing amazing things, and we’re proud to be supporting them on their journey.
What is your magic sauce?
I think it’s our approach. We take our relationships very personally, which is why we don’t work with everyone or on everything. We’re about connection.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
We want to sit alongside agencies like Identity run by Femi Oguns OBE and home to the like of John Boyega, Letitia Wright, and Damson Idris. I want us to be the first port of call for corporates and the mainstream when it comes to cultural talent with a purpose and PR.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
I really do look at challenges as a fact of business life? Don’t get me wrong, business isn’t without issues, but I can’t think of any that really rocked the business. We’ve gone through natural challenges like staffing – not everyone is a good fit , but the key is to understand that this moment will pass.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We want to work with events managers looking for atypical talent to speak to their audiences and clients.
They can get in touch via our website www.tgrg.co.uk or our Instagram and Twitter channels @tgrguk
