Livingstone Ian
Co-founding Partner of Hiro Capital
Ian Livingstone CBE is one of the founding fathers of the UK games industry. He co-founded iconic games company Games Workshop in 1975, launching Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer in Europe. He co-authored The Warlock of Firetop Mountain with Steve Jackson in 1982, writing 14 titles in the Fighting Fantasy gamebook series which has sold over 18 million copies worldwide. He designed Eureka, the first computer game published by Domark in 1984. He joined the Domark board in 1992, overseeing a merger that created Eidos plc in 1995 where he served as Executive Chairman until 2002, and as Creative Director until 2006. At Eidos he launched global video games franchises including Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. He co-authored the influential Livingstone-Hope Next Gen review published by NESTA in 2011, recommending changes in ICT education policy. Following publication, he chaired the Next Gen Skills campaign, working with government to introduce the new Computing curriculum in schools in 2014. In the Wired 100 list for 2012, he was ranked the 16th most influential person in the UK’s digital economy. He was listed in the 2015 Debrett’s 500 of most influential people in UK. Dan Zelezinski
Director of Health Partnerships of Biovotion
Dan has recently taken up the role of Director of Health Partnerships for Biovotion. A leading medical grade, wearable technology company headquartered in Zurich. Prior to this, he has an academic background in physiology and applied this in the health and high performance domain, operating for the past 15 years as a consultant within the Goldman Sachs Wellness & Leadership Programmes. His expertise lies in the application of scientific principles to enhance mind and body interconnectedness, to distil and leverage insights afforded by cutting edge sensing technology and ultimately, to drive sustainable high performance. On a personal level, he has been involved in competitive sports most of his life and continues to actively seek opportunities to push limits. He has completed Ironman events, climbed Himalayan peaks, competed in the ACR, billed as the “toughest ski race in the world” – a 180km X Country ski race in the Arctic Circle and has rowed across the Mediterranean, raising $1m for the HPV foundation. He still claims that the hardest challenge is bed and bath time duties for his 4 young children!
