At Spin Brands we always knew that we wanted to be specialists in social vs generalists in marketing broadly.

With this we’ve leant into our entrepreneurial and commercial back ground by leveraging social to really create genuine impact for businesses whether that’s scaling their revenue through innovative social ads or paving the way with social-first creative content to achieve the commercial objective of choice.

Tell us about yourself?

I started my first business at age 19, where I built a cycle business with both a retail and online presence. This allowed me to gain the very real skills that enabled me to scale a local business for local people to selling nationally and even internationally with the primary focus around social media.

From this, I fell into consulting to other businesses in my industry which then expanded to brands looking to leverage social to scale online, fast forward 6 years and the side line of consulting has expanded into a fully fledged 45+ person social media agency based in London working with 60+ brands across 20+ countries.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

I’m a big believer in each decision or experience being character building in their own way so I wouldn’t change much as it might not have led me to where I am now.

However, for me, the stand out personality trait I would double down on is having the tenacity to prove people wrong and that my age was the competitive advantage in this instance. You don’t have to follow traditional education systems to achieve growth in this industry.

What problem does your business solve?

We help brands leverage the power of social to build brand fame and recognition along with increased sales revenue and reach.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

The satisfaction of really helping a business take a step change and leverage untapped opportunities. Primarily for ambitious brands tackling significant growing pains such as international expansion or data-driven investment strategies.

What is your magic sauce?

We have real life experience with cash-flow, supply chains + business operations that combined with our specialism in social and focus around combining creative with performance to achieve scale is one of our many competitive advantages.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

  • To build the best social-first agency in the world.
  • Not necessarily to be the biggest but the best.
  • Develop our offering in line with the innovation across all key platforms in key markets.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The biggest challenge I’ve faced personally as over riding the imposter syndrome that comes from a largely scrappy-self-taught entrepreneurial back ground.
