Tell us about yourself?
I started in this industry over 22 years ago. Almost immediately I was drawn to decorating. Artistic 18 year old wanting to express yourself. Years went by and now I employ over 15 people, encourage them and get the best out of them in everything they do.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
Have more patience with some of my staff while at the same time don’t waste the time on the ones that don’t care.
What problem does your business solve?
LGC Decorators Ltd make the property improvements easy. Our team is a dream to work with every time on every project. We always learn, as every job brings it’s own challenges. We solve problems and learn how to do things more efficiently, saving time and money.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
Inspiration is very simple. You simply want a comfortable life for your family and loved ones. We use our skills in property repairs in order to get there.
I get inspired more on how NOT to do things when I come across some cowboys in our line of work. The best reward is a happy client and good, honest Thank You at the end of the project.
What is your magic sauce?
There is NO magic in what we do. We just have to care about our clients and treat their properties with the respect they deserve. Attention to detail is our magic sauce.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
Over the next 5 years we would like to expand, so more customers can experience the high level of workmanship from LGC Decorators. At the same time it would would be good to find the balance between work and life.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
Covid must have been the biggest challenge, we thought. But looking back, the current high inflation and price rises are effecting the business and our clients even more…
