TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?
I started in hospitality and from an early age, appx 8, “I knew” I wanted to be a chef, so I always had a weekend / holiday job working in pubs and restaurants. I got to go to The SAVOY training school for a week during the summer holiday’s and cooked with the legend that is “Mary Berry” in my kitchen. I then became “Highly Commended” in a UK wide cooking competition and had my recipe published. Mary then signed it for me…
I then went on to get my 706/1 and 2 and an HND and thereafter degree in Hotel Catering and Hospitality Management. Which led me on to working in and running Restaurants, Bars Hotels, Venues and outside catering events. I then went on to work in the agency world of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events working for and then later setting up my own Hotels, Conference and Events booking agency and Golf Break and Golf Day companies.
I have also been involved with business’ in Insurance, Cyber Security and property as well as being a Non Exec director and advisor to business’.
From my experience of being part of highly functioning teams both in sport and business I decided to use this to help others to grow their own business. This is so necessary as only 20% of business owners are either Rich, Prosperous or making a good living, whereas 80% are either in endless financial struggle (They “Get By”) or Broke.. I know we can help ALL business owners to be what they really Wannabe….A professional Business Person.
IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME A YEAR OR TWO, WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOURSELF?
Be more consistent and don’t give up! I was always trying to do more, never feeling I had achieved enough, but that wasn’t the problem. The problem was that I was not doing the right things to move my business forward.
