Nnamdi Alexander Mezue: Assembling Talented Individual Freelancers and Work as an Organised Unit To Deliver Great Service

January 5, 2022

Brewstarz Ltd started up as a web development company in 2020. However due to the Covid-19 pandemic which set us back a great deal we decided to expand our services to Fillm production and talent management.

Our plan was to assemble talented individual freelancers and work as an organised unit to deliver great service.

Tell us about yourself?

I was born in Nigeria. I’ve been a web designer for 16 years. I have a wife and 2 daughters. I graduated from Civil Engineering from the University of port Harcourt, Nigeria but never practiced.

My first startup was a record label named Maxibeats between 2010 and 2016. Before I shut it down and migrated to the U.K I was able to develop 2 well known music producers named Kezyklef and Benjamz. The latter is a Grammy nominated producer.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

If I were to go back a year I would have waited until 2021 before starting up. It would have saved us alot of fruitless marketing we did in 2020.

If I were to go back 2 years i would have started with all the services I offer now at once

What problem does your business solve?

Presently our film production department is trying to change the way people watch videos online. We also hope to provide the best possible videos to audiences at the least posssible cost.

Social media is gradually trying to turn websites into archives. We also want to change that while also utilising and integrating social media into websites.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

It has always been my passion for tech and entertainment that drives me. When you are able to work tirelessly and without motivation you tend to achieve alot. Only passion can do that. When things tend to go wrong you ar the only one that believes.

External influences like my father was also key. As a successful estate developer , he was able to give me some major pointers on management and handling the competition.

What is your magic sauce?

We differ from our client in alot ways. Especially because we can tailor our service to any client no matter your budget. We do this while maintaining quality of service.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Our Film production company has been the driving force so far. We are presently going into production of a feature film . Thanks to a sponsor that believes in us.

Our artist management department currently has 5 celebrities under their care.

At the rate we are going, we intend to produce at least 5 feature films. Increase our client base to 50. Increase staff from 10 to 100. Open a branch office.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Covid-19 is our biggest problem. Due to its unpredictable nature we can’t make any guaranteed forecasts. It has already set us back 1 year. With new varianra popping up and restrict changing randomly we hardly know what the future holds.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

It easy to convince people because I have a track record and previous clients to back me up. Luckily our service delivery has been good enough for our clients to refer new client to us. So we have been surviving majorly on referals. With time we will improve on this.
