John Yates

John Yates has worked for over 30 years in the commercial satellite industry. After having completed a BSc(Hons) in Electrical Engineering and Electronics at the University of Nottingham and a post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration at Manchester Business School, in 1986 he joined Europe’s first commercial satellite operator, the recently incorporated SES Astra, in Luxembourg and has been immersed in the sector ever since. He co-founded Helix Technologies in 2016 with Dr. Oliver Leisten, the investor of the dielectric-loaded antenna, and is keen to work with Tier 1 Systems Integrators to bring this high-performance technology to market.
