Tell us about yourself?

As a father of 3, entrepreneur, writer and educator, I’ve been running Dimmock Web Marketing for around 14 years. An idea that materialised during my IT sales employment, this business was formed to connect companies that had products and services to offer, with those who needed them (business to business – B2B or business to consumer – B2C). I’ve also enjoyed designing and writing from an early age, hence why I enjoy being creative at marketing and running my own business now.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Just chill – things always work out and the challenges shall pass, too! 🙂

What problem does your business solve?

Dimmock Web Marketing helps business owners build their online authority by creating professional websites and using online marketing methods such as SEO, social media, PPC, Google My Business and copywriting, to help them attract potential clients to their websites. Once there, we help them convert website visitors to action-takers, using usability and conversion strategies.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

Dimmock Web Marketing helps business owners build their online authority by creating professional websites and using online marketing methods such as SEO, social media, PPC, Google My Business and copywriting, to help them attract potential clients to their websites. Once there, we help them convert website visitors to action-takers, using usability and conversion strategies.

What is your magic sauce?

We call ourselves the purple cow (a term coined by Seth Godin in his best-selling book of the same name) due to our approach to helping new clients win in their chosen field online. “Winning” can be more website hits, more newsletter sign-ups, more demo requests, more sales enquires or simply more eCommerce sales. Whatever the needs and requirements are of a client, we have the technological expertise and experience to help them grow their business online, through higher rankings, resulting in more conversions.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

For the next 5x years, our goals are to re-design our website, scale our business with new staff and help / guide my son (who is 19 and loves the internet!) to, one day, take it over. In addition, we want to add more additional services to our portfolio and pay it forward more with local charities, community projects and sponsorships.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Our biggest challenge so far has been to keep up with the changes and improvements made by Google and their search engine ranking algorithm (they make around 500 major changes and 4,000 minor changes pear year), while helping our customers remain top of their search engine, while improving their website(s) to convert those visitors into action takers.
